Bremerton and Longview 10/17-10/19

On October 17th we performed a concert in Bremerton. We are thankful that Kitsap Community Concerts invited us to be on their schedule as Bremerton is in our “backyard.” They are the closest venue to home for us on our schedule. It allowed us to be home for a few days to take inventory of what we could do better, Katherine could do some laundry and I could restock the CDs.
We were able to leave the suitcases at home because we could return to the house after the concert. We were able to fit a chair in the van so that I could pick up my mom and take her along. Going to Bremerton from our house we had to ride one of our famous Washington ferry boats.
We set up our equipment at Bremerton High School’s state of the art facility. We then had a bit of time to spend so we did what every other good American does and went to the mall for a couple of hours. I had to purchase jeans. Katherine went with my mom to find a winter coat.
The concert was well received. We meet the nicest people at community concerts. People who like harp music are always very nice! If you have been told that you are a nice person, statistics will tell you that you like harp music.

On the 19th we gave a concert in Longview, WA at the historic Columbia Theater. We love the theaters in the community that have been taken care of and restored. We are fortunate to be able to perform in such special places. The theater in Longview is no exception for being a fine community venue. We are always greeted with a professional staff and professional technical help.

The concert went well. I am not a very good critic of myself. If you would like to know how the concerts go, please come to a concert and check it out for yourself. I am either too hard on myself or too easy. It is difficult to give a good self evaluation.
We aren’t too impressed with the way our points at Choice Hotels are so difficult to redeem. We should have had a couple of “free” nights by Longview but not according to THEIR records. If that is the least of our problems, we are doing pretty good!
